Diagnosis. Juga with five pegs; anterior half impunctate, posterior half of head with punctures; prosternal carina elevated with a series of fine setae basally ( Fig. 4b View FIGURES 4 A – M ). Pronotum with lateral margins explanate.
Description. Head, pronotum, prosternal carina, scutellum, lateral and apical margins of hemelytra, abdominal venter, femora of all legs dark brown. Antennal segments I, III, marginal carina of pronotum, rostral segments, rest of hemelytra, median and hind tibiae pale brown. Antennal segments IV–V and fore tibiae pale yellow.
Head. Anterior half without punctures; tylus longer than juga; rostrum reaching middle of mesosternum. Thorax. Anterior half of pronotum elevated, with dense punctures, anterior margin concave, anterolateral margins carinate, posterior margin rounded; propleura shiny and polished; prosternal carina elevated with a series of fine hairs at base ( Fig. 4b View FIGURES 4 A – M ); mesopleura with evaporatorium reaching anterior and lateral margins of pleura; metapleura with evaporatorium also extended to posterior and lateral margins; peritreme small, reaching middle part of pleura, with a pale brown mesial line, and posterior margin entire ( Fig. 5b View FIGURES 5 A – M ). Legs. Fore tibiae with six robust spines on dorsal margin ( Fig. 6b View FIGURES 6 A – O ). Hind femora with a simple spine near apex on ventral margin ( Fig. 7b View FIGURES 7 A – Q ). Scutellum triangular with uniformly distributed punctures on disc ( Fig. 1b View FIGURES 1 A – D ). Hemelytra with scattered punctures, lateral margin slightly toothed basally; clavus with three rows of punctures; membrane hyaline surpassing apex of abdomen. Abdomen shiny, ventrally convex, with fine hairs.
Male genitalia. Paramere large, apically elongated, with middle part of external margin elevated ( Fig. 8b View FIGURES 8 A – N ).
Male measurements (n=1). Body length 3.6; head length 0.6; width across eyes 0.7; interocular distance 0.35; interocellar distance 0.2; antennal segments: I 0.15, II 0.05, III 0.3, IV 0.3; V 0.35; rostral segments: I 0.35, II 0.25, III 0.3, IV 0.2; pronotum length 1.0; width across anterior margin 0.7; width across humeral angles 1.6; scutellum: length 0.9; width 1.1; length of fore femora 0.6; fore tibiae 0.85; fore tarsi: I 0.1, II 0.05, III 0.15; length of hind femora 0.9; hind tibiae 1.0; hind tarsi: I 0.1, II 0.05, III 0.15.
Holotype Male. México: Chiapas, Santiago El Pinar, 20-VI-2006, D. N. Velasquez, Parcela 2, Trampa Amarilla 7 ( CNIN).
Distribution. Mexico: Chiapas.
Etymology. From the Latin carina = keel, and pilosus = hairy referring to the hairs on the prosternal carina.
