Ecological category. Epigeic.

Habitat. Subalpine or mountainous belt of fir tree or of mixed beech-fir forests.

Zoogeographical distribution type. Balkanic-Alpine.

Distribution in Croatia. This species is found in the mountains above 1000 m a.s.l. (Alpine region), but also in the Mediterranean region (in the foothills of those mountains). Karaman (1972): Rtina (Zadar); Mršić (1984, 1986): Islam Latinski, Risnjak, Rožanski kukovi.
