Microparasellus View in CoL Karaman, 1933 (= Microparasellus Karaman, 1934) and Microparasellidae Karaman, 1934
Remarks: Microparasellus Karaman, 1933 is unavailable (per ICZN Article 67.4.1) because Karaman (1933) included two species in the genus and did not designate a type species. Galassi et al. (2016) indicated that a “proposition” to the ICZN was needed to validate the name, but none has been submitted as far as is known. However, this action is not necessary as Karaman (1934) subsequently used the name Microparasellus to include a single species, M. puteanus Karaman, 1933, and the name is available from that paper as Microparasellus Karaman, 1934 with M. puteanus Karaman, 1933 as the type species by monotypy (fide ICZN Art. 68.3).
Galassi et al. (2016) argued that Microparasellidae Karaman, 1934 is available fide ICZN Article 13.1 despite being based on an unavailable genus name ( Microparasellus Karaman, 1933) but as the genus is available as Microparasellus Karaman, 1934, the family name is similarly available without invoking any ICZN article.
