Lectotype (Clewell in Rhodora 68: 390, 392. 1966): Kalm, Herb. Linn. No. 921.41 ( LINN; iso- UPS, BM) .

Current name: Lespedeza violacea (L.) Pers. ( Fabaceae : Faboideae ).

Note: See extensive discussion by Reveal & Barrie (in Phytologia 71: 456-461. 1991) where they conclude that the lectotype belongs to what has been known as L. intermedia Britton , for which L. violacea becomes the correct name.
