Geographical distribution. The species has previously been reported from the Antilles, Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, French Guiana, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Trinidadand Tobago, Uruguay, United States, Venezuela and the West Indies ( Metcalf 1963a; Duffels and van der Laan 1985; Wolda and Ramos 1992; Sanborn 2001a; 2006b; 2007a, b; 2010a; 2011a, b; Sueur, 2002).
