scientific name

Juncus conglomeratus L.
status

Juncus glomeratus Linnaeus, Amoenitates Academicae 4: 481. 1759, orth. var.

RCN: 2530.

Lectotype (Snogerup in Bot. Not. 123: 428. 1970): Herb. A. van Royen No. 904.145–425 (L).

Current name: Juncus conglomeratus L. ( Juncaceae ).

Note: Juncus glomeratus L. (Amoen. Acad. 4: 481. 1759) was regarded by Stearn (in Geck & Pressler, Festschr. Claus Nissen: 632. 1974) as an orthographic variant of J. conglomeratus L. (Sp. Pl. 1: 326. 1753). This seems plausible, because the phrase name used by Magnol (Bot. Monsp.: 635. 1676) is cited as a synonym of J. conglomeratus by Linnaeus in 1753. Moreover, J. glomeratus never appears again.
