Distribution: W South Africa, Namibia, to SW Angola.
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc). Common.
Discussion: Fifteen subspecies have been named but no attempt has been made to assess their validity or geographic limits, but see Roberts (1951). Karyotype has 2n=56 and FN=112 ( George, 1980).
