Drapetis View in CoL (including Elaphropeza Macquart View in CoL ) is recognized from other drapetine genera that occur in the New World by the following combination of features: eyes at least narrowly separated on face, gena scarcely extended below eye, frons with sides strongly divergent above, antenna with terminal or subterminal aristalike stylus, Rs longer than bmcu crossvein, cell br much shorter than cell bm, and A 1 very weak or absent.
