Diagnosis. Wing length (mm): ♂ forewing 26–27, hind wing 21–22. First abdominal tergite of male slightly elevated ( Figs 61, 62 View FIGURES 59–63 ). Erect setae of metascutellum and first abdominal tergite identical and slender ( Fig. 62 View FIGURES 59–63 ). Dark brown marking on mesoscutellum “bell-shaped” ( Fig. 92 View FIGURES 84–95 ). Lateral side of thorax with a large yellowish longitudinal stripe ( Fig. 60 View FIGURES 59–63 ). Legs yellowish. Third abdominal sternite with a longitudinal black stripe, fusiform ( Fig. 63 View FIGURES 59–63 ). Male genitalia as in figures 123–125.
Material examined ( 6 ♂♂). Holotype ♂ of Disparomitus simplex Kimmins , KENYA, Kasigau , -3.826389/ 38.6625, alt. 1481 m, xi. 1938 Dr. V.G.L. van Someren leg., Com. Inst. Ent. No 11280, Pres by Com.
