Male. Because of its similarity to A. vittatus and A. sanfoka only significant characters are included. Measurements, body 19 mm; wing 12.6 mm. FHWR 1.0:4.3; FWLR 1.0:2.0; m 1 WR 1.0:3.6:3.9; HFWLR 1.0:30. Head: Postocular bristles extend to midlateral margin of head. Abdomen: Apical three segments with one bristle in each apical corner. Terminalia ( Figs. 187–192 View FIGURES 187–192 ): Epandrium broadly rounded apically, with a small dorsoapical notch. Gonostylus and aedeagus distinctive. Hypandrium round apically.
Female. Measurements, body 18.0 mm; wing 13.4 mm; FHWR 1.0:4.2; FWLR 1.0:2.0; m 1 WR 1.0:4.1:4.3; HFWLR 1.0: 4.2. Abdomen: Terga 6 to 8 and sternum 7 with sparse, unusually stout, black bristles. Terminalia: Damaged, not dissected.

Distribution ( Tables 1, 2; Fig. 196 View FIGURE 196 ). Niger and Uganda; collected in August and September ( Tables 1, 2).
Etymology. Latin vorax for vicious, referring to the predaceous habits of asilids.
Remarks. Afroestricus vorax is similar to A. sankofa and A. vittatus in the unusually thick femora of the male, the stout posteroventral bristle on the middle femora of both sexes but is distinguished from them by the characters of the terminalia ( Figs. 187–192 View FIGURES 187–192 ).
