Amblytropidia paranaensis Matiotti da Costa, n. sp.

Etymology: The specific epithet refers to Paraná State, where these grasshoppers were first sampled.

Diagnosis: This species is characterized by a combination of the following features: (i) Subtriangular epiproct with distinct median sulci in the apical and lateral portions and a rounded apex; (ii) conical male cerci, elongated and robust at the base, curving inward; (iii) female subgenital plate with a large lobe on both sides of the hind edge; (iv) convex bridge with a median reentrancy; (v) sclerotized anchorae larger than anterior projections; (vi) trilobated and sclerotized lophi.
