Vernacular Names: Bay Cat.

Distribution: Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia (Kalimantan), Malaysia (Sabah, Sarawak).

Conservation: CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Endangered.

Discussion: Placed in Catopuma by Hemmer (1978) and Groves (1982 a). Placed in the monotypic Badiofelis by Pocock (1932 d), and followed by Weigel (1961), and Johnson and O'Brien (1997).
