Diagnosis (modified after Nicholas & Stewart 1995). Cuticle prominently annulated with eight longitudinal ridges or ridges absent. Lips high, deeply incised. Deep groove around the head just posterior to the insertion of six inner labial setae, in front of outer labial and cephalic setae, sets off the lip region from the slightly tapered pharyngostoma. Pharyngostoma spacious, in the shape of cylinder with strongly cuticularised walls.Amphidial fovea circular, located at the level of pharyngostoma. Spicules strongly curved ventrally, cephalated. Gubernaculum small, without dorsal apophyses. Precloacal supplements absent.
