Type Locality: Robertsport, Liberia.
Vernacular Names: Buettikofer's Shrew.
Distribution: West African high forest; S Guinea ( Heim de Balsac, 1958) to Liberia, Ghana ( Decher et al., 1997), and Nigeria ( Hutterer and Happold, 1983).
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Formerly included attila ; see Hutterer and Joger (1982). Grubb et al. (1998) discussed a number of possible records from Ghana and Sierra Leone that require confirmation.
