Diagnosis. Holotype male: As Agrilus rifkindi , but 6.60 mm long, 1.90 mm wide; setae shorter and sparser throughout, except on pronotum and on prosternum and along midline of metasternum and abdominal ventrites 1–2; each elytron glabrous on raised area between basal depression and costa and in costa for 1/4 of length at middle and in apical 1/4, creating thee vague spots; setae dense and augmented by white efflorescence on dorsal 1/2 of posterior coxae, on epimeron and sides of metasternum, and on dorsal portions of ventrites 1–2; dorsal portion of abdominal ventrite 1 arcuately rounded on lower margin, broader than ventrite 2, ventrite 2 broader than ventrites 3–5.

Hosts. Adults have been collected on Acacia spp., including Acacia cochliacantha Humb. & Bonpl. ex Willd.
Etymology. Named for the Mexican state in which the holotype was collected.
Discussion. As noted above under the nominate form of A. rifkindi , the subspecies pueblae is distinguished by having the dorsal portions of the first two abdominal ventrites densely and conspicuously setose, with the dorsal portion of the first segment distinctly wider than that of the second. Males measure 5.95–7.90 mm long (mean = 6.83 mm for 23 specimens), and females measure 5.50–9.20 mm long (mean = 7.27 mm for 46 specimens).
