The pneumatization of the jugal in Tsaagan is far less than in Velociraptor , although the jugal foramen/recess ( Witmer, 1997; Norell et al., 2006) is identifiable ( Fig. 4D View Figure 4 ). As in Deinonychus , the majority of the bone surface of the jugal in Tsaagan is smooth. Notably, the holotype of Linheraptor , which may in fact represent another specimen of Tsaagan ( Turner et al., 2012; Evans et al., 2013) possesses numerous well-developed foramina across its jugal (e.g. Xu et al., 2015) CT scanning performed by Norell et al. (2006) demonstrated the absence of any internal pneumatization of the jugal in Tsaagan .
