Type:— AUSTRALIA. Tasmania, Long Tarns , 41°47’S 146°21’E, 1270 m alt., on alpine dolerite boulders, 17 February 2012, G. Kantvilas 30/12 (holotype − HO!; isotype − E!) GoogleMaps .
Endemic to Tasmania where it is relatively widespread on dolerite mountains, especially in the central highlands. Its anatomical and chemical characteristics suggest a relationship with L. psephota . A full description is provided by Kantvilas (2014).
