Phodoryctis Kumata & Kuroko, 1988 View in CoL

The genus was described by Kumata et al. (1988b) to include two species found in the Afrotropical and Eastern Palearctic. The first species, Phodoryctis caerulea ( Meyrick, 1912) , was originally classified under the genus Cyphosticha but has since been reclassified. The second species, P. stephaniae Kumata & Kuroko, 1988 , is not found in Africa. The authors also assigned two other Acrocercops species previously described by Vári (1961) from South Africa to this genus: P. thrypticosema and P. dolichophila . All species of this genus found in the Afrotropical region are leaf miners of Fabaceae .
