Comments: Sclerophrys pusilla is a species that is widespread across western Angola, with the exception of the desert areas in the southwestern regions the country ( Marques et al. 2018). Poynton et al. (2016) reinstated S. pusilla as a valid species, which was long considered as a synonym of S. maculata ( Hallowell, 1854) , in the eastern central, eastern and southern parts of Africa ( Poynton et al. 2016). Ferreira (1904, 1906) did not cite any Bufo maculatus ( Hallowell, 1854) and did not identify the majority of these specimens. Specimen MHNCUP/ANF 189 constitutes the first published record of the species for Kwanza Norte Province and specimen MHNCUP/ANF 114 is the first published record for that region of Namibe Province. Specimens MHNCUP/ANF 114 and ANF 163 were previously identified as S. funerea .
