Tomopterna ahli (Deckert, 1938) View in CoL
Material (one specimen): One adult specimen (MHNCUP/ ANF 225 , formerly UP-MHNFCP-017341; Fig. S26 View FIGURE S ), collected from Mossamedes [=Moçâmedes] [-15.20000º, 12.15000º, 24 m a.s.l.] Namibe Province, in 1905 .
Comments: Tomopterna ahli is a species found in southwestern Angola, extending to northern and western Namibia ( Marques et al. 2018; Frost 2020). This specimen is part of the shipment of specimens made by Newton from Namibe Province and therefore was never published by Ferreira or any subsequent authors. T. ahli was until very recently known as Tomopterna damarensis Dawood & Channing, 2002 . The previous name is now considered a junior synonym ( Channing & Becker 2019). The first account for the species in Angola, based on specimens collected in Iona National Park, southern Namibe Province was published in 2016 ( Ceríaco et al. 2016a; Heinicke et al. 2017). Butler et al. (2019) provided additional record from Bicuar National Park, Huíla Province. The present specimen extends the known distribution of the species northwest towards Moçâmedes region.
