Psammophis namibensis Broadley, 1975
Material (one specimen): One adult specimen (MHNCUP/ REP 172 About REP , formerly UP-MHNFCP-094983; Fig. S67 View FIGURE S ), collected from unknown locality, date unknown .
Comments: Psammophis namibensis is found in the arid regions of southwestern Africa, namely southwestern Angola to western Namibia and Northern Cape Province in South Africa ( Marques et al. 2018). P. namibensis was initially described by Broadley (1975) as a subspecies of Psammophis leightoni Boulenger, 1902 but was eventually given full species status ( Broadley 2002), however, Taft’s (2018) Master’s thesis found P. namibensis to be a synonym. Ferreira did not cite this specimen but identified it as P. sibilans .
