Type Locality: Peru, Rio Marañon, Pongo de Rentema.

Vernacular Names: Green Acouchi.

Synonyms: Myoprocta archidonae Lönnberg 1925 ; Myoprocta caymanum Thomas 1926 ; Myoprocta limanus Thomas 1920 ; Myoprocta milleri Allen 1913 ; Myoprocta parva Lönnberg 1921 ; Myoprocta puralis Thomas 1926 .

Distribution: S Venezuela (headwaters of the Orinoco), E Colombia, E Ecuador, N Peru, W Brazil.

Conservation: Unknown.

Discussion: Voss et al. (2001) concluded the green acouchies exhibit substantial geographic variation and may represent a complex of closely related species. We have followed Voss et al. (2001) in provisionally recognizing the green acouchies as M. pratti pending further revision.
