Material.—Cretaceous, lower Eocene, upper Eocene, lower Oligocene, south-central Ukraine.

Remarks.—Some of the big protriaenes ( Fig. 2A, C ), prodichotriaenes ( Fig. 2I, L, P ), and especially the protriaenes with massive shafts ( Fig. 2B, D, G ), resemble those of ancorinid Stelletta (compare Sim 1996: figs. 1–6). The same is true for incomplete anatriaenes ( Fig. 2F, H, J, M ) and orthodichotriaene ( Fig. 2T ) that resembles spicules of Stelletta

Myriastra ) illustrated by Sollas (1888: pls. 12 and 14).
