Alpheus angustilineatus Nomura & Anker, 2005 View in CoL
( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 )
Alpheus angustilineatus Nomura & Anker 2005: 111 View in CoL , figs. 3, 4, 13C, D.
Material examined. Indonesia. 1 male ( MZB Cru 4035), southern Lombok, Tanjung Aan (east of Kuta), degraded coral reef flat with some seagrass and abundant rubble, under large pieces of coral rubble, 0.5–1 m, leg. D.L. Rahayu et al., 15 May 2014 [LB-St7-25].
Taxonomic account. See Nomura & Anker (2005).
Habitat. Coral reefs and adjacent habitats, in crevices of dead coral heads overgrown by algae, or under rocks and coral rubble. Depth range: intertidal to at least 10 m.
Distribution. Indo-West Pacific: southern Japan, Indonesia (new record), New Caledonia, Fiji ( Nomura & Anker 2005; present study).
Remarks. Alpheus angustilineatus , a species from the A. gracilipes Stimpson, 1860 species complex, is recorded from Indonesia for the first time. This species can be most easily recognised by its very distinctive colour pattern ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 ; see also Nomura & Anker 2005: fig. 13C, D). On the other hand, preserved specimens are difficult to separate from the closely related species, e.g., A. parvimaculatus Nomura & Anker, 2005 , which is also known from Indonesia. It is very likely that other species of the A. gracilipes complex will be found in Indonesian waters in the future.
