The E. prasina View in CoL group
There are 26 species belonging to this group. The synapomorphy that may support the monophyly of the group is the male cerci without tooth. However, in E. mariannae and E. rammei male cerci are with a tooth, but these two species share several other prominent similarities with some species in the group. Thus, these two species are also considered as belonging to this group. Six species of the group from Crete, E. giuliae , E. latens , E. mariannae , E. rammei and E. astyla , seem to constitute a natural group by sharing the presence of short and upwards (not backwards) directed styli that are located preapically and do not extend beyond the hind margin of subgenital plate in ventral view. Although styli are long, the shallow incision of male subgenital is a similarity of these six species and E. cretica also from Crete. The remaining 19 species constitute another related group sharing the internal margins of the apical lobes of the male subgenital plate truncately connected to the base of the styli and being more or less tapered on the internal side thus forming a typical triangular incision.
