Patellapis bifurcata species-group
The P. bifurcata species-group consists of those species in which the females have the basitibial plate apically pointed or angulated like species of the P. minutior -group, but they are separated from those in having the scutum, metasomal terga T1–T2, and propodeum rather scarcely punctuated (i = 1,0–1,5d). Furthermore, the surface of the scutum is more polished and shiny than in species of the P. minutior species-group. The males are characterised by the conspicuous large bifid, v-shaped metasomal sternum S8 ( Figs. 2f View FIGURE 2 , 7h View FIGURE 7 ). This speciesgroup comprises five small to medium sized species: P. bifurcata , P. depressa , P. gessorum , P. pseudorubricata and P. rubricata .
