Mémoires de l’Institut scientifique de Madagascar, sér. B, 4: 142 (1952). — Lectotype (here designated): Perrier 13865 ( P! [ P00573620 ]; iso-, P! [ P00573621 , P00573622 ]).
Perrier 13865 is here chosen as the lectotype of Diospyros subfalciformis H.Perrier instead of the other syntype (Pervillé 659) because it possesses female flowers and fruit.
