Maba tropophylla H.Perrier, Mémoires de l’Institut scientifique de Madagascar, sér. B, 4: 105 (1952). — Lectotype (here designated): Perrier 19412 (P! [ P00573698 ]; iso-, G!, K!, MO!, TEF!).
Perrier 19412 is here chosen as the lectotype of Maba tropophylla H.Perrier instead of the other syntypes (Grevé 191, Humbert 11357, Humbert 11358bis, Perrier 1738, Perrier 8778, Perrier 1374 [incorrectly cited as Perrier 13174 in the protologue], Service forestier [original series] 33, Service forestier [original series] 2 [incorrectly cited as Service forestier 52 in the protologue]) because it possesses female flowers and fruit, and has widely distributed duplicates. The syntype Hildebrandt 3374 is excluded from M. tropophylla as it represents a different as yet undetermined species.
