Mémoires de l’Institut scientifique de Madagascar, sér. B, 4: 127 (1952) (as “ louveli ”). — Lectotype (here designated): Geay 8083 ( P! [ P00573542 ]).
Geay 8083 is here chosen as the lectotype of Diospyros louvelii H.Perrier instead of the other syntypes (Geay 7838, Geay 7839, Geay 7854, Louvel 132) because it possesses several fruits.
