Vernacular Names: Xanthippe's Shrew.
Synonyms: Crocidura xanthippe Dollman 1915 .
Distribution: Nyiru, Voi, Tsavo ( SE Kenya); Usambara Mtns ( Tanzania).
Conservation: IUCN – Vulnerable.
Discussion: Status uncertain; probably related to hirta . Not to be confused with Crocidura xanthippe Bate, 1937 (replaced by C. samaritana Bate, 1937 ), a Pleistocene shrew from Palestine.
