Lectotype (Nelmes in J. Bot. 77: 265. 1939): Herb. Linn. No. 1100.22 ( LINN) . - Epitype (Foley in Watsonia 26: 29. 2006): England. Gloucestershire, v.c. 33, near Haw Bridge, 15 Jun 2004, M.J.Y. Foley 2020 (BM; iso- E, FI, G, LE).

Current name: Carex vulpina L. View in CoL ( Cyperaceae ).

Note: Foley provided an extensive discussion of the original elements involved in Linnaeus’ concept of this taxon, concluding that doubts about the identity of the lectotype were best resolved by the designation of an epitype.
