Extrusomes broadly fusiform, about 4–6 µm long, attached to anterior half of oral bulge and scattered in cytoplasm. Somatic ciliary pattern Litonotus -like; 6–11 right and 4–9 left kineties.

Distribution. Litonotus varsaviensis was recorded in submerged mosses from Slovenský Raj at a frequency of 1.88 ( Tirjaková & Matis 1987); in organic mud from activated sludge plants in the town of Bratislava ( Matis 1988); in the periphyton and benthos of the Turiec River ( Tirjaková 1993); in an oligotrophic stream in the National Nature Reserve Rozsutec, Malá Fatra Mts ( Tirjaková 1997b); in soil under mosses and in mosses from the town of Bratislava ( Andelová & Tirjaková 2000, Chrenková & Tirjaková 2000); in the benthos from the Gidra River ( Tirjaková 2003a); in the benthos from the Stupavský potok brook ( Tirjaková 2003b); in mosses from the fluviatile tract of the Hincov potok stream, High Tatra Mts ( Krno et al. 2006; Tirjaková 2001, 2004); in the sediment from the littoral zone of the upper Váh River ( Tirjaková & Vďačný 2013a); in the sediment from the Zubrovica stream, Low Tatra Mts ( Tirjaková & Vďačný 2013b).
