Sparse, short silvery pile dorsally, longer silvery pile posteroventral to eye. Median ocellus rosaceous, lateral ocelli green in holotype, rosaceous or green in paratypes, eyes castaneous, tawny in some paratypes. Ventral head green, tawny in some paratypes, small castaneous mark on medial lorum at junction with postclypeus and anteclypeus. Thick white pubescence on ventral head. Pronotum with longitudinal piceous fascia on either side of midline expanding laterally on anterior and posterior ends, transverse line in anterior fissure in some paratypes, piceous within fissures except medial terminus of paramedian fissure, between anterior ends of paramedian and lateral fissures, which can be piceous in some paratypes, and posterior ambient fissure between fascia on either side of midline and extension from posterior lateral fissures, mark in paramedian fissure extends posteriorly into comma shaped mark turned laterad on disk between paramedian and lateral fissures. Pronotal collar green with light castaneous lateral margin, darker in some paratypes. Pronotum covered with short silvery pile, denser in fissures and in paratypes, short black pile on lateral disk and lateral pronotal collar, denser on pronotal collar. Mesonotum green, piceous marks in anterior and posterior submedian sigillae, near anterior and in posterior lateral sigillae, triangular piceous mark between anterior submedian and lateral sigillae, J-shaped piceous mark with long extension fusing along midline between middle of submedian sigillae and hooked portion curving along anterior cruciform elevation and terminating on scutal depression, cruciform elevation green, tawny in some paratypes, wing groove green with longitudinal piceous mark on medial margin near anterior. Piceous markings expanded to fill sigillae completely or reduced to small spots in some paratypes. Metanotum green with piceous anteromedial spot. Silvery pile on mesonotum, denser laterally and posteriorly and between arms of cruciform elevation, in wing groove, and on posterior metanotum. Ventral thoracic segments greenish-tawny, green or tawny in some paratypes, with thick white pubescence and sparse, long white pile, light castaneous marks on anterior anepisternum 2, posterior katepisternum 2, medial trochantin 2, medial meron 2, and posterolateral anepimeron 2, darker marks and marking on medial episternum 3 in some paratypes.
Wings. Fore wings and hind wings hyaline with eight and six apical cells respectively. Venation green or tawny becoming castaneous and piceous distally. Costa tawny, radius and subcostal vein, arculus, cubitus anterior, cubitus posterior + anal vein 1, anal vein 2 + anal vein 3, and mottling on median veins green, anal vein 2 + 3 with piceous posterior margin. Basal cell lightly clouded. Pterostigma present. Basal membrane of fore wing white mottled with green anteriorly becoming dark gray posteriorly. Infuscation on base of radius anterior 2 extending beyond radial crossvein in holotype but separated into two spots or only a proximal spot in some paratypes, radial crossvein, radiomedial crossvein, large spot on distal third of radius anterior 2 that expands over distal apical cell 1 and half of distal apical cell 2 and ambient vein to wing margin, longitudinal infuscation within apical cells 2–6, wing margin from wing apex to terminus of cubitus anterior 2, and on arculus extending into distal basal cell. Venation of hind wing tawny mottled with green, green median vein, distal veins castaneous mottled with green in some paratypes. Anal cell 3 and anal cell 2 along anal vein 3 dark gray mottled with green, piceous spot at base extending across base of anal vein 3, anal cell 1 and 2 along anal vein 2 and anterior cubital cell 2 along cubitus posterior vein dark gray. Small infuscation on wing margin, expanding across most of wing margin at apex.
Legs. Legs green striped with light castaneous, green replaced with tawny in some paratypes. Fore femora with elongated proximal spine adpressed against femur, secondary spine elongated, upright triangle with castaneous tip and very small tertiary spine, all green, tawny in some paratypes. Distal tibiae and tarsi light castaneous, tibial spurs and comb castaneous.
Operculum. Male operculum roughly triangular with smoothly rounded posterolateral margin, reaching to anterior of sternite II, green with castaneous spot on lateral and medial base, covered with white pubescence. Medial margin curved, extending to middle of trochanter barely covering tympanal cavity medially. Meracanthus pointed, green with a castaneous base not reaching to middle of operculum. Female operculum with rounded posterolateral margin, terminating medially at middle meracanthus reaching to posterior of sternite II, green or tawny with green margin and light castaneous spots on medial and lateral base, covered with thick white pubescence. Female meracanthus almost as long as operculum, tawny or green with a castaneous base. Opercula with long silvery pile radiating from margin.
Abdomen. Abdominal tergite 1 green, tergite 2 tawny anteriorly with piceous anterior margin and green posteriorly, completely green or piceous anterior margin incomplete in some paratypes, tergites 3–8 castaneous with green posterior margin, castaneous darker in more posterior tergites, tergites with black and silvery pile, black pile denser anteriorly, on dorsolateral surface and along posterior dorsal margin on midline and laterally, silvery pile on lateral tergite 2, posterolateral tergites 3–8, dorsolateral tergites 5–8, and posterior dorsal midline of tergites 2–8. Measurements (mm). N = 9 males or 10 females, mean (range). Length of body: male 22.82 (21.1–24.9), female 20.73 (19.5–21.9); length of fore wing: male 31.46 (29.4–34.3), female 30.44 (28.8–32.0); width of fore wing: male 9.66 (8.8–10.4), female 9.34 (8.6–10.1); length of head: male 2.89 (2.6–3.2), female 2.87 (2.7–3.1); width of head including eyes: male 7.36 (6.9–7.8), female 7.29 (6.8–7.7); width of pronotum including suprahumeral plates: male 8.91 (8.0–9.7), female 8.99 (7.9–10.1); width of mesonotum: male 6.82 (6.6–7.4), female 6.91 (6.0–7.7).
Diagnosis. The generic characters with also distinguish the species. The shape of the uncus, the abdominal coloration pattern, and the infuscation pattern of the wings quickly separate males from other genera of Dazina. The abdominal coloration pattern along with the infuscation pattern of the wings distinguishes female specimens.
Distribution. The species appears to be distributed over a wide range with the type series being collected in Alajuela, Heredia and Limón, Provinces, Costa Rica and the Departments of Izabal and Sacatepéquez, Guatemala.
