Genus Stictane is characterized by the gray ground color of forewing with a dark medial band, one or several dark discal spots, and subbasal and submarginal series of dark spots. Abdomen is fuscous gray with gray-yellow anal tuft. In the male genitalia, uncus is slender and long; valva are narrow, with long to short saccular process; aedeagus with cornuti. In the female genitalia, corpus bursae is scobinate, with long spines ( Holloway, 2001).
