Material examined — Hidalgo: Tlanchinol, Canis familiaris (= Canis lupus) Linnaeus; 1998, B. Salceda. Mexico: Malinalco, IX.1999, C. Martínez, 4 males, 5 females. Veracruz: Zaragoza, C. familiaris , III.1997, 7 males, 13 females.
Remarks—The records and the range of hosts for this species are limited in Mexico ( Hopkins and Rothschild 1953). C. canis has been found in seven of the 32 states ( Table 1).
