Material. Altai Republic, 2 km NNE of field station “Teletskaya”, 51º48'06" N, 87º 18'18" E, 500 m a. s. l., glade in a mixed forest, on mosses, 01.08.2020 ( V. Golub), 2 males, 5 females, 1 larva GoogleMaps .

Distribution. Transpalearctic species. In Western Siberia the species was previously recorded from Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra and the Kemerovo Province. First record from the Altai Republic and Altai as a whole. The nearest localities of the species in Eastern Siberia are the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Tuva and the Irkutsk Province.

Ecology. A. carinata , like all species of the genus Acalypta Westwood 1840 , lives on mosses, on which it was collected in the vicinity of Lake Teletskoye. The species was found in forest glades together with Ceratocombus coleoptratus (Zetterstedt, 1819) ( Ceratocombidae Fieber, 1860 ) on mosses growing in moist soil.
