Lectotype (Hitchcock in Contr. U. S. Natl. Herb. 12: 125. 1908): Clayton 601, Herb. Linn. No. 1211.9 ( LINN; iso- BM, US) .

Current name: Erianthus alopecuroides (L.) Elliott ( Poaceae ).

Note: Fernald (in Rhodora 45: 251. 1943) appears to have regarded the material in BM as the type (rather than that in LINN) and illustrated it in pl. 761, f. 1,2.
