Type Locality: Australia, New South Wales, Sydney.

Vernacular Names: Long-nosed Potoroo.

Subspecies: :

Subspecies Potorous tridactylus subsp. tridactylus Kerr 1792

Subspecies Potorous tridactylus subsp. apicalis Gould 1851

Distribution: SE Queensland, coastal New South Wales, NE Victoria, SE South Australia, SW Western Australia, Tasmania, and King Isl ( Australia).

Conservation: IUCN – Vulnerable as P. t. tridactylus , otherwise Lower Risk (lc). Endangered on mainland Australia, common in Tasmania.
