Body length 45.2–69.5 mm (♂); 32.0– 38.7 mm (♀).

Description. Major male. Body largely brownish to reddish, surface weakly metallic, head, including widest region of mandibular bases 2.5× width of pronotum and elytra. Head mainly brownish, weakly metallic, surface covered with vestiture of inconspicuous, short white setae; mandibles incurved at basal 1/3, straight along midlength and apices; each major inner mandibular tooth located approximately halfway toapex, sharply triangular and protruding forward, not inflated on either side,>6 small inner mandibular teeth located below major inner mandibular tooth, usually about five small inner mandibular teeth located between major mandibular tooth and apical fork; apical mandibular forks strongly developed, sharply open anteriorly; upper branches of apical fork 2× length of lower apical fork branches; anterolateral ridges of head well developed, posterolateral margin of head evenly convex, only slightly wider than anterolateral ridges; clypeolabrum well developed, trapezoidal, labrum triangular, protruding along midlength and laterad labrum. Pronotum brownish with little metallic luster; surface covered with vestiture of inconspicuous short setae; convex at apex and base, significant protruding at middle; 0.5× width of head and mandibles; prothoracic tibiae brownish to somewhat reddish, each bearing>5 weakly developed spines from apex to basal 1/3; mesothoracic tibiae bright reddish to brownish, each bearing a single spine at midlength; metathoracic tibiae bright reddish, each bearing a single poorly developed spine along basal 1/3. Elytra reddish to brownish, surface smooth and metallic; slender, widest at apical 1/3, strongly narrow at basal 1/3. Median male as major male except: head with mandibles strongly incurved along basal 1/3 and apical 1/3; major inner mandibular tooth triangular, sharply pointing forward;>5 small and generally poorly developed inner mandibular teeth located below major tooth. Pronotum prothoracic tibiae brownish to somewhat reddish, each bearing>5 well developed spines from apex to basal 1/4; mesothoracic tibiae bright reddish, each usually bearing about 2–3 sharp spines at midlength; metathoracic tibiae bright reddish, each bearing a single poorly developed spine at basal 1/3. Minor mal e as major and median males except: body usually reddish; head with mandibles straight at basal 1/3 and middle, weakly incurved apically; major inner mandibular tooth weakly developed to absent, single-pointed and not triangular; <4 poorly developed, small inner mandibular teeth located below or above major tooth. Genitalia. Ventral plate of basal piece short and stout at middle; basal piece usually clearly defined, 0.5–0.6× length of entire aedeagus; apical flagellum weakly enlarged, flagellum 0.8× length of entire aedeagus; aedeagus stout, incurved at basal 1/3, triangular distally.

Female. Body black, surface shinning, oval, usually smaller than major and median males, subequal in length or larger than minor male. Head black; surface punctate; mandibles incurved along midlength and apical 1/3; each mandibular tooth well developed, asymmetrical; right side of each mandibular tooth triangular; left mandibular smooth and convex along midlength; preocular and postocular margins strongly developed, forming acute angle, protruding apically; clypeolabrum weakly developed, rounded, slightly protruding along midlength. Pronotum black, surface with metallic luster; obscurely but densely punctate; anterior pronotum significant enlarged and rounded, 1.15× width of posterolateral pronotum; prothoracic tibiae black, each bearing five spines from apex to midlength; distal two spines strongly developed; prothoracic tibiae 1.3× width of mesothoracic and metathoracic tibiae; mesothoracic tibiae black, each bearing two spines along midlength; metathoracic tibiae black, each bearing a single poorly developed but clear spine at basal 1/3. Elytra black, surface with metallic luster, concolorous with head and pronotum; oval, widest at apical 1/3, strongly narrow at basal 1/3.

Distribution. China (Guangxi (Da-Ming-Shan Mt.)).

Phenology. Adult specimens of L. deuveianus were collected from mid-July.

Natural history. Typical host plants of L. deuveianus are Cyclobalanopsis glauca , height around 5–9 m with diameter more than 30 cm. Adult longevity is 25–30 days.

Collecting methods. Hand and net-trap collected.
