Remarks: As discussed both in the original description of this species by Tomé et al. (2014) and more recently by Guzmán et al. (2022), the attribution of this species to the genus Candonopsis is dubious, because none of its soft parts were preserved, and it presents a more trapezoidal outline in lateral view instead of an ellipsoidal one, as common for the genus. As no valves with their hinge or adductor muscle scars preserved were found to allow for a more reliable classification, the authors opted to maintain it in the genus Candonopsis for now.
