Type locality.
[Northern Territory, near Alice Springs] "Glen of Palms by the junction with Palm Creek" ( Tate 1896: 202).
Label.
"Glen of Palms", presumably in Tate’s handwriting.
Dimensions. "Length, 20; width 12.5 (...) mm"; specimen figured herein H 17.5, D 12.2, W 4.4.
Type material.
NHMUK 1895.10.1.202-207, six paratypes (ex W.A. Horn).
Remarks.
This material was collected during the Horn Scientific Expedition to Central Australia (1894). Three of the specimens are subadult or juvenile. Further type material is present in the South Australia Museum in Adelaide ( Breure and Whisson in press).
Current systematic position.
Bothriembryontidae, Bothriembryon spenceri (Tate, 1894).
