Note: Widely treated as a nomen ambiguum, and informally rejected by authors such as Greuter (in Boissiera 13: 122. 1967), Verdcourt (in Kew Bull. 23: 509. 1969) and Rahn (in Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 120: 183. 1996), Applequist (in Taxon 55: 235. 2006) formally proposed the rejection of this name.
