Holotype (male): MEXICO, QUINTANA ROO.
Diagnosis. Similar to T. austellus by the color and antennae shorter than the last palpomere. Telegeusis austellus may be distinguished by the elytra shorter and the frons narrower than T. glessum .
Description. Size. Length 4.60; width 0.80. Color. Yellow, mandibles, tibiae and terminal part of elytra darker; apical palpomeres black. Head. Flat ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 6 – 10 ), at eye level a little wider (0.82) than long (0.80), wider than pronotum (0.74). Interocular area slightly convex. Distance between eyes and pronotum 1.31 times the length of the eye. Integument slightly shiny and chagrined, punctate; each puncture with a yellow, erect seta; setae longer behind the eyes. Antennal tubercles weak. Interantennal area concave; 1.62 times as wide as length of scape. Antennae longer (1.30) than the last palpi segment (1.19). Eyes reduced, slightly prominent, longer (0.26) than wide (0.16); interocular distance slightly more than three times (3.12) the width of the eyes. Frons sloping; slightly concave; anterior margin straight. Labrum with a very pronounced median tooth ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 2 – 4 ). Thorax. Pronotum ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 6 – 10 ) wider (0.74) than long (0.54), almost as wide as the length of the head; anterior margin straight, posterior margin convex, sides straight; disk convex and glossy; integument finely chagrined, setose, with fine punctures sparsely distributed. Posterior margin of scutellum rounded. Elytra ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 11 – 15 ) 2.85 times as long as wide, subparallel, posterior margins rounded; integument chagrined, rough and coarsely punctate, especially in posterior third; each puncture with a yellow, imbricate seta. Membranous wings ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 16 – 20 ) twice as long as wide. Abdomen. Brilliant, integument chagrined with tiny punctures, each with a yellow, imbricate seta. Female unknown.
