Type species: Mitropsis fusiformis Pease, 1868 [= Mitropsis paumotensis ( Tryon, 1883) ]
Diagnosis. Shell small, elongate, incised suture, 4–5 teleoconch whorls. Sculpture of axial ribs overrun by spiral cords. Narrow S-shaped aperture. Inside outer lip with clear sinus and denticulate.
