Type. Fall (1915) described P. fortis based upon two males and one female from Nogales in Santa Cruz County. Fall’s type male, hereby designated lectotype, labeled “ ♂ // Nogales / St. Cruz Co. / IX.1.06 [hand-inked] Ariz. [printed, white paper] // COLL’D BY / NUNEMAC [printed, white paper] //TYPE [printed] / fortis [hand-inked, white paper] // M.C.Z. [printed] / 24936 [hand-inked, red paper] // H.C.FALL / COLLECTION [printed, white paper] // [circular blue disc signifying dissection by RJB] // LECTOTYPE / Pachybrachys / fortis Fall / R. J. Barney 2022 [printed, red paper]”, was examined, dissected, and photographed ( Fig. 1 View Fig ).
Remarks. Once the Fall type specimen of P. fortis was examined it became obvious that P. madera should be synonymized under P. fortis . Consult Barney (2019c) for complete description of P. fortis (= P. madera ) and additional specimens examined.
