Family Lepilemuridae Gray 1870 (1 genus with 8 species)

Family Indridae Burnett 1828 (3 genera with 11 species and 6 subspecies)

Discussion: All Malagasy lemur families, with the possible exception of Daubentoniidae , form a monophyletic clade (reviewed in Groves, 2001 c). As the families within this clade themselves fall into two groups, it is convenient to recognize infraorders as well as superfamilies.
