Ochthebius (Ochthebius) bifoveolatus Waltl, 1835 View in CoL
Material examined. TG2: 26- VI- 2014 (3 exs.).
Chorotype. West-Mediterranean.
In North Africa, the species was known only from Morocco ( Jäch & Skale 2015). Our collection from Aïn Spring Djemâa-Tarchi located at 1200 m on the massif of the Djurdjura (Kabylia) constitutes the first record of the species from Algeria. In Kabylia, O. bifoveolatus was found in a natural spring, not under immediate threat, among semi-submerged mosses.
In Morocco, the species is found in several regions in the Rif and the Atlas Mountains ( Bennas et al. 2001; Benamar 2015).
