Description.
Male (first description) ( Figs 2A–I View FIGURE 2 ).
Measurements (in mm): Body length 7.8, forewing length 5.4, head height 2, head width 1.3, interantennal distance 0.3, antennocular distance 0.1, ocellocular distance 0.2, ocelloccipital distances 0.2, areola length 0.6, areola basal width 0.4, areola apical width 0.2, tegula length 1, and tegula middle width 0.5.
Colour: body metallic blue, except for tegula, legs, and mandible black; antenna brown; forewing extremely dark infumate, stigma dark; apical half of T7 rufous.
Head: triangular, antenna very short and stout; clypeal anterior margin triangular; mandible bidentate; maxillary palpi large; front and vertex with very large contiguous punctures ( Fig. 3D View FIGURE 3 ).
Mesosoma: pronotal carina complete, and well-developed, punctures large and contiguous as on front, lateral pronotum entirely and very coarsely reticulopunctate ( Fig. 2E View FIGURE 2 ); scutum between notauli coarsely reticulopunctate; mesopleuron with a well-defined carina, completely coarsely punctate with contiguous punctures; metanotum and scutellum with very coarse punctures similar to those on scutum; midtibia apically with two tibial spurs; hindtibia elongate with nearly parallel upper and lower margins; mid and hind femora cylindrical, inner face strongly convex, without a longitudinal ridge, with two spur, both relatively small, outer face with spines and very sparse hairs; tegula much elongated, auriform, almost twice as long as middle width; radius of forewing with an intercubital spur ( Figs. 2A View FIGURE 2 , 3G View FIGURE 3 ); marginal cell of forewing completely closed; dorsal propodeum lateral to areola with three high, crooked longitudinal carinae as high as those of areola, areola tricarinate, median carina incomplete apically ( Fig. 2G View FIGURE 2 ); propodeum laterally with lower non-rugose part separated from upper part by a continuous groove; upper part entirely coarse rugose; propodeum posteriorly with very fine rugulae convergent on articulation.
Metasoma: T1 with a very strong transverse carina supported by many short longitudinal ridges; anterior aspect strongly declivous, with scattered primary punctures and dense, extremely fine micropunctures; terminal two-fifths of T1 completely impunctate ( Fig. 2H View FIGURE 2 ); base of T2 with many short longitudinal ridges, three-fifths coarsely punctate and terminal two-fifths moderate-sized punctures; T3–T6 with moderate-sized punctures, uniform in size and distribution except apices which are polished impunctate for one-third to one-half punctate area; terga with sparse, elongate, dark brown hairs; pygidium with coarse ellipsoid and very regular punctures having a broad V-shaped termination; S5 simple, without denticle.
Female ( Fig. 3A–E View FIGURE 3 ).
Same as male, except the following differences.
Measurements (in mm): Body length 9.5, forewing length 7.7, head height 2.2, head width 1.7, interantennal distance 0.3, antennocular distance 0.3, ocellocular distance 0.4, ocelloccipital distances 0.4, areola length 0.7, areola basal width 0.6, areola apical width 0.3, tegula length 1.4, tegula middle width 0.7.
Clypeal anterior margin arcuate ( Fig. 3B View FIGURE 3 ); carinae lateral to areola connected by lesser cross ridges; last tergite and sternite entirely rufous; marginal cell of forewing almost closed.
Distribution. Greater Sunda Islands (Borneo, Java and Sumatra) ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ).
