10. Draba media Litvinov (1902: 12) View in CoL [ Draba stenocarpa Hooker & Thomson (1861: 153) ].

Type locality indication: “Prov. Semireczje (Songaria) … Prov. Fergana … Pamir … Prov. Samarkand … Bucharae, prov. Darwas … Prov. Transkaspia …” (27 syntypes cited).

Lectotype (annotated by Al-Shehbaz in 2002 and designated here):— KYRGYZSTAN. [Jalal-Abad Prov., Fergana range]. Andizhan district , near the upper reaches of Urak-su (near the Kenkol’ pass). Subalp. 8000’. 29 May 1899. [fl., fr. submat.], D. Litvinow s.n. [originally in Russian] ( LE!). Other syntypes mainly in LE!; duplicates in BRNM!, GH!

Among the numerous gatherings from all over Middle Asia by Karelin & Kirilov, Fetisov, Krasnov, Regel, Tranzschel, Korshinsky, Komarov, Lipsky, and Litvinov that were cited in the protologue, three were made by Litvinov: “Prov. Fergana, distr. Andishan: in jugo Ferganensi ad trajectum Kenkol, circ. 10000’, 29 Maji 1899, fl. et fr., 17 Jun. 1899 fr. … Prov. Transkaspia: In monte Rizarasch pr. Firuza, 9500’, ad nives deliquescentes, 11 Julii 1898 fl. et fr. (Litwinow, exsiccata n. 580)”. The most complete of them with both flowers and fruits is chosen as the lectotype. Elevation 10,000 ft. given in the original publication refers to the syntype collected on 17 June 1899, while elevation mentioned on the label of the lectotype was not cited. However, the date and the phenophase directly and unambiguously point at the specimen collected at 8,000 ft. Unlike both syntypes from Kenkol’ pass, represented each by a single specimen at LE, the last of Litvinov’s collections issued within the exciccata should be available in various herbaria (we examined the following duplicates: BRNM 17708/33, GH 00046948, and two at LE).
