3. Draba alajica Litvinov (1902: 14) View in CoL .

Type locality indication: “Prov. Ferganae, distr. Osch. In valle Alaj pr. Tarascha in decliviis lapidosis et herbosis, 10000’, 24 Junii 1895 fl. et fr. nec non in decliviis herbosis ad trajectum Schaty 28 Jun. 1895 fl. legit S. Korshinsky”.

Lectotype (designated here):— KYRGYZSTAN. [Osh Prov., Alai Valley], Tarascha, stony slopes, 10,000’, [fl., fr. immat.], 24 June [18]95. S. Korshinsky 491 [originally in Russian] ( LE!) . Isolectotype in B!, other syntypes in B!, LE!

Although two collection localities and dates, corresponding to the two uncited numbers (490 and 491), were mentioned in the original description of the species, more than two gatherings were apparently involved. While the number 490 corresponds to a single collection (Shaty pass, 11,000 ft; two duplicates—at B and LE), there are three collections included in the number 491, from: 1) herbaceous slope at 11–12,000 ft ( B, LE) ; 2) herbaceous slope at 9– 10,000 ft ( LE), and 3) stony slope at 10,000 ft ( LE). Despite the elevation data were reported only for the last specimen, others were cited via the phrase “in decliviis lapidosis et herbosis” because “herbosis” directly refers to those specimens and not to the one with mentioned elevation, the only specimen collected at stony and not at herbaceous slope. For this reason, all of the above-mentioned gatherings should be regarded as syntypes. However, the specimen collected in the vicinity of Tarasha at 10,000 ft is chosen as the lectotype as it is the most explicitly cited and, besides, the most complete one among all the six syntypes, including the four at LE annotated by Litvinov .
